Fantastic space to learn musical instruments. My kids and I love the staff. Margrit is a gem. Thank you for being kind and patient.
As a Student I have thoroughly enjoyed my time being taught and guided by Margrit and the other teachers. I would recommend this studio to everyone who is interested in learning music as all the teachers are ready to share their talent with students, each with a clear goal in mind that is reached in time for our musical events like our Annual Recital. Then as a student teacher I get to see behind the scenes and see how much thought is put into each individual, from which teacher would better suit an individual down to what books would be more helpful to carry them on their musical journey.
This was our first year with Neighbourhood Music Studio. Our teenage granddaughter wanted to learn the piano partway into the school year and we reached out to NMS to find out if it would be possible. Margrit was very kind in giving us all the details and answered all our questions and was able to fit her into an appropriate piano class time . Our granddaughter loves and respects Ms Esther and was thrilled to be able to attend her first recital. She is looking forward to starting again in September.
Our daughter has been enrolled in piano lessons with Neighbourhood Music Studio for two years and is progressing well. She enjoys every lesson and loves the one-on-one instruction she receives from her talented teachers. Margrit and her team run a family oriented studio that is welcoming, professional and most importantly, fun for the students! Margrit's Neighbourhood Music Studio is a friendly environment, and the perfect place to go for all your children's musical, creative and tutoring needs.
My daughter has fun and looks forward to going to her lesson. This studio caters to all students no matter what their individual goals. Our goals are for her to have the opportunity for music experiences outside of what she gets in school and this is a great place to get that. No pressure and knowledge teachers with personal attention you can only get from a small business.
I took piano lessons from Margrit when I was a child. I progressed quickly in my lessons and Margrit went above and beyond to include me in other aspects of the studio to help me gain additional skills (such as helping out with the younger group classes so my confidence could grow). Margrit became like a second mother to me and I look back and cherish those memories. Her studio has grown so much but I know she values each and every student and only wants the best for all of them. Learning to play an instrument is a valuable skill, but learning to play it at a studio that truly cares is a whole other experience!
I took maybe years of piano lessons with Margrit. Those years helped form who I am, not only as a musician but as a person. The life lessons you learn from childhood music lessons are invaluable, and from the time Margrit began teaching me in elementary school through until the day I left for college, I became not only a better musician, but a better performer and a better teacher. Under Margrit's guidance I developed a skill set that I still use almost 10 years later. Thank you, Margrit, for all those years of patience and pushing, and for the life-long impact you have made on my musical journey.
Having my boys apart of your wonderful school is indeed a great blessing. The knowledge and experience at neighborhood music school is remarkable. Talented teachers with love and passion for teaching music. My boys look forward to class with their teachers. That makes a huge difference sending the boys to class. Neighborhood music school is the best place to grow and enjoy music.
Neighbourhood Music Studio was my second home for 15 years, throughout which I gained not only my Grade 9 RCM certificate but a loyal friend, teacher, and mentor in Margrit. What distinguished her studio to me was that no effort went unrewarded. Margrit encouraged me to "share my music" (where I've found deeper appreciation as an adult) and rewarded me with volunteer opportunities, some of my first jobs, and writing reference letters for my undergrad applications (which helped me secure a Chancellor's Scholarship). I will always be grateful for all the chances and patience she had for me. Margrit knows every student, parent, and teacher by name, and I can't think of a more caring environment to learn. Thank you Margrit!
I've been at NMS since I was about 9, doing voice lessons. Now, I'm a student teacher there! It's a great place to learn, and a great place to teach. Margrit does a lot for her students and I'm excited for my experience with NMS for the next years to come!
This is a wonderful place for kids to learn music. From the patient and well experienced teachers to the owner , my kids have been going here for 3 years now and it’s just awesome!
I can’t say enough good things about Neighbourhood Music Studio! It’s been about 5 years now and the experience for our daughter has been incredible. Looking forward to continuing the journey!

Two of children go to Ms. Margrit for music. My 1 year old loves his baby class. He has DS and the socializing is great for him; and he absolutely loves the music and the little instruments he is introduced too. My 8 year old has done piano, violin and voice lessons. Her teachers take musical education to a fun level. She absolutely loves going. Wouldn’t ever consider taking my children any place else. A family friendly environment, and great prices. Thank you Ms. Margrit for the many years of music classes, you’re absolutely one in a million.
Both my sons have been going there for couple of years for Piano. They have fantastic teachers and programs are well managed by Ms Margrit. Very professional, everyone is nice, teachers do their best and the quality of the lessons is much better. Highly recommended Neighbourhood Music Studio!
My daughter has been taking vocal lessons for several years now. She enjoys her lesson tome each week and as a parent it is wonderful to hear her progress. Highly recommend

Nothing but high praise for Neighbourhood Music Studio. Lessons are well organized and thoughtfully tailored to each age group. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to pursue music lessons!
Two of my kids go to this studio (1 with special needs). The teachers are professional, friendly and offer fun exciting learning experiences for the children. Margrit has fair prices, and is extremely accommodating for children’s other extracurricular activities. She is always available for any concerns or an special requests. I can’t imagine taking my children to anyone else for their music lessons.
My daughter began piano lessons in September of 2022! She absolutely loved her classes with her teacher. She learned so much and her confidence increased as she discovered a new talent. We will definitely continue with neighbourhood music!
This was our first year with Neighbourhood Music Studio and we were very happy with our experience from beginning to end. Margrit was wonderful in answering any questions we had, communicating any necessary changes/updates, or rescheduling of classes. Ana taught piano to both of our kids and they absolutely adored her. The end of year recital was very well organized and focused on the students and their accomplishments. We look forward to starting again in September.
Wonderful teachers - very patient and great with kids. My 11 year old son is doing great with one-on-one sessions with an actual rock guitarist, while my 5 year old daughter is enthusiastically learning how to play piano. Margrit, the director of the school, is passionate about teaching children the wonderful world of music. A great place to send your children to learn.
I grew up going to Neighbourhood Music Studio! Margrit and her staff are the most dedicated, caring music teachers you will ever meet. I can't recommend them enough!
