Registration Policies

Attendance: Your lesson time is reserved.  The student agrees to arrive at each lesson punctually and prepared. Lateness for a lesson will only receive the balance of the lesson. If the teacher is late, the student will also only receive the balance of their lesson, however, the student is offered a make-up session.  NMS reserves the right to reschedule lessons in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Make-Up Lessons are a courtesy for sickness and vacation and may be offered as time and days permit. Inclement weather and teacher absence will be made up. Absences without notice will not be offered a make-up lesson.

There are no group lesson make ups, however, there may be extended classes toward the end of the season as time permits.

Private Lessons are offered throughout the year, given in weekly 30, 45 and 60-minute intervals.
Fees in all subjects are charged by the school year, which is 33-38 weeks from September to June, depending on the lesson day. Fees are set accordingly and by market value. Discount is applied for multi-lessons, multi-family and weekends.

or later in the season who wish to prepay their program.

Pre-Paid Refunds, 2 Installs: There is no refund for missed classes.  A pro-rated refund will be calculated out of the second installment, less an admin fee of $45.00 per child, if your written request to withdraw is received before the third month (no later than Nov. 15th) of the season.
No refund after Dec.1st of the teaching season in any program.  If you fail to produce the second installment and cancel, your prorated fees and the admin fee will be subject to collection.

NMS Teaching Staff My wonderful staff of teachers and I are here to teach well-rounded lessons. Occasionally, teachers distribute material for the school. For special events, they may approach you personally to schedule some extra time. My teachers, unfortunately, cannot take requests for lessons at their home or yours.

Please discuss fees, schedule changes and progress with me only. I am available by email 24/7 and by phone every day except Tuesday and Wednesday after 1pm as Iím teaching. I am always happy to set up meetings with parents and/or the teacher at a mutually acceptable time.

Student Progress Private music lesson progress depends on the commitment. Daily playing the instrument or voice, is advised to assure success.  Beginner group students receive a less demanding home playing curriculum that is age appropriate. All music students should have music at home that is played for fun only and not brought to lessons. This encourages a bonding with the instrument.

Academic students at my school for peer help or tutoring must assure that all school material and reports are available. The teachers are more than willing to assist in monitoring home playing or studying if required.

Attendance your lesson time is reserved. Please call in all absences and be on time.
